Who we are

Surface Performance Ltd (Companies House number 08052650) is a UKAS accredited testing laboratory specialising in surface performance measurement — slip resistance, impact attenuation, ball rebound, grass coverage, lux measurement and the full set of sports-pitch and pedestrian-surface assessments demanded by UK standards. Our UKAS Testing Laboratory number is 7933.

The laboratory holds a range of accreditations. UKAS ISO/IEC 17025 is the technical competence accreditation underpinning all of our testing. We additionally hold sector-specific recognition from FIFA, the FA, World Rugby, the ITF, FIH and RoSPA for our sports-pitch work.

Slip testing is a core part of our laboratory's scope of accreditation. Our pendulum technicians are competency-assessed annually, our equipment is calibrated to traceable standards, and every accredited report carries the UKAS logo and our accreditation number 7933.

Where we work

Our field technicians operate across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We regularly work in Ireland (Republic) and across Europe for specific sports-surface clients. For UK slip testing, we cover every major city and town with a routine site-visit operation.
